We know more about Technical Gadgets.
We’ve been waiting a long time to see an actual product with the quad-core Kal-El Tegra 3 processor and Asus just showed off the sequel to the Transformer at the AllThingsD conference in China.
There aren’t many details about the next generation Transformer – to be called the Transformer Prime – although Asus Chairman Johnny Shih said the device will rock a 10-inch screen and be about 8.3 millimeters thick but what we’re really interested in is that this should be the first retail device that uses the quad-core Kal-El Tegra 3 processor, which has three times the graphical performance of the Tegra 2. We’re expecting this processor to really open the door for console-level gaming on tablets and eventually, on phones too.
There’s no official word on a release date but Asus hinted that the device could be landing sooner, rather than later. As for the just-announced Ice Cream Sandwich, Asus hinted that it could land on tablets like this one before the end of the year, although there was no formal announcement.
